Devlog #7 - Development Day | GoedWare Game Jam 13


๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Today, I focused on creating a title screen and a startup sequence inspired by old computer boot-ups, displaying informative text at launch. I thought it would be a good place to include the credits and a reference to the game jam it's participating in.

๐Ÿ’พ Sticking to the HUDโ€™s aesthetic, I recreated the look of phosphor monitors with scanlines and an exaggerated gloom effect, really pushing the retro feel. To achieve this, I reused a CRT shader from previous projects, making a big visual improvement with little effort. For a game jam project, it already feels quite polished.

๐ŸŽต In the afternoon, I caught up with Pol about the music composition. This style isnโ€™t really his favorite, so heโ€™s struggling a bit, but we already have one solid track, and Iโ€™m happy with it so far. We also took a break from development to play some matches on Fightcade. ๐Ÿ•น๏ธ

โš™๏ธ I still need to fix a few minor issues caused by the shader, but nothing major. Tomorrow, we keep going.
